Command line: ABOGEN

Ribbonbar: ProTop -> Tools -> Drawing -> Tangent Curve

Using the function 'Tangent Curve', you can connect arcs tangently to existing elements in your drawings. Valid elements include lines, arcs or circles (also as sub-elements of blocks or polylines). Once completed, the arcs are saved on the current layers.

Process

Command: ABOGEN

Enter the tangent point for the object:

Pick a line, arc or polyline using object snap.

Enter the radius value of the arc you want to connect:

Be sure to enter a numerical value for the radius.

Pick the general direction of the arc you want to connect:

Pick the appropriate quadrant - make sure it is vertical to the object at the connecting point.

Set the arc length as follows: [Opening Angle/Keyboard Entry]<W>

Choose your preferred option (W/T); angles can be displayed or entered numerically; choosing keyboard entry as your preferred option, you have to enter a numerical value for the length of the connecting arc.

Connecting to polylines sometimes has the effect of making the connecting element disappear from the screen. Using either the function key F7 or AutoCAD command NEUZEICH enables redrawing it.

Using the PFEILBOG function, you can use arrows to mark the ends of an arc.
