Cabling the Equipment

Support functions are provided for cabling the equipment to create Cable route plans, Cable layout plans and Cable overview plans.
It is based on a Cable layout plan derived from the Signalling layout plan. The creation of a Cable layout plan is described under Deriving further Layout Plans. Alternatively, it is also possible to use an Overview Plan as a basis.
Optionally, splitting the view port is more convenient for editing. The Basic plan and the Cable overview plan can be displayed in one view port each with appropriate drawing sections.
To make the cabling of the safety-related elements in the drawing, first construct the cable routes. Subsequently, the creation of the Cable overview plan is started. The interlocking types of different manufacturers are supported. The Cable catalogue to be used, the basis for the length determination as well as the reserve core and excess lengths for tail and line cables should be determined or checked.
After checking the basic data and checking or defining the planning specifications, the cable cabinets and junction boxes can be positioned in the cable overview plan and the cabling elements can be transferred from the basic plan to the cable overview plan. Tail and line cables can be inserted and scaled in the cable overview plan. The storage of technical data is possible for cables, cable troughing, pipe routes and underground cable routes. The functions for creating the cable overview plan consider the various dependencies resulting from the type of cabling elements, from the possible mutual influence of their operating currents and from their operating distance or from the electrical limit values of the cabling. The cabling module also enables checking and if necessary, changing the cabling at any time.
Quantity determination can be used to evaluate the existing attribute data.
In the Cable layout plan, the route sections can be labeled with the names of the cables. Automatic checking and sorting is possible within these labels (Cable lugs).
