Process:
•Create the track identifiers in the train station area. The definition of the track identifiers in the train station is a requirement for the assignment of the signal number.
Description:
A Track Identifier is an Area Object in ProSig and it is defined for all tracks that are used operationally. The boundary between the train station and the track is determined by the home signals. At first, the track identifier can be determined provisionally. Once the planning of the signals is completed, the areas of the track identifiers have to be adjusted accordingly.
The Track identifier in the train station area is usually defined from switch toe to switch toe. For continuous main station tracks, the beginning of the track identifier is on the main signal and it can also be created over several nodes. Connecting track elements are not assigned to any track identifier.
In the PlanPro glossary, the object is formulated as follows:
Track Identifier (Gleis_Bezeichnung)
The support of the operational identifier of a track.
A Track is given a name when it is needed for operational use. Topological nodes (e.g. Switches) do not interrupt the track identifier.
Track Identifier for Station Track
For the continuous main tracks in a train station, the area object for the track is usually modeled from an home signal to the home signal of the opposite direction. If the track is divided in terms of operational identifiers (e.g. Track 1 and Track 21), separate area objects should be created for these tracks.
Further names of station tracks are usually formed between topological nodes, however, other nodes may also be included.
Tracks that do not require a name from an operational point of view (e.g. Single Crossovers) will not receive a track name.

Procedure:
1.The Setting of a Track Identifier is performed in the section 'Track Parameters' with the function 'Track Identifier'.
Command Line: PRS_GLEIS_BEZEICHNUNG
Ribbon: ProSig EPU -> Planning Basis -> Track Parameter -> Track Identifier
oIn the command line the prompt 'Pick point 1' appears.
2.By selecting the boundary points, a new area object 'Track identifier' can be inserted into the drawing.
oDuring the insertion, the boundary points of the area on the topological edge (layer PRS-TOPOLOGICAL EDGE) have to be selected. Exit the selection with the Enter key.
▪At this stage of the planning process, track identifiers are only determined provisionally. After the Planning Signals and if necessary the Track Clearance, the areas of the track identifier can be modified as described under PSO Area Object - Edit. The boundary between the track identifiers of the line and station track represent the entry signals.
▪For continuous main tracks, the area object track identifier is usually defined from the home signal to the home signal of the opposite direction.
▪The Track identifiers of further station tracks begin and end at the topological nodes of switches, whereas further topological nodes of switches may be included in the Area object.
▪For track identifiers of section tracks, the boundary points should be the entry signals of the stations on both sides of the section track. If the area under consideration ends at one side of the section track, the area extends to the end of the topology.
▪If several tracks between the boundary points are possible, then the intermediate points should be chosen to clearly identify the track identifier area.
oThe Track Identifier is a PSO-Area Object.
oAfter the creation, the track identifier is displayed as an area object on the track set and stored on the layer PRS-TRACK IDENTIFIER.
3.After the insertion of the track identifier, all relevant data should be entered using the function Edit Object(s).
Command Line: OE
Ribbon: ProSig EPU -> Tools -> Edit Object(s)
Illus.: Attributes of a Track Identifier in a Train Station |
Illus.: Attributes of a Track Identifier on the Line |
oFor the Attribute 'Name' (A, F), enter the name of the track.
▪For section tracks the name should be entered in brackets.
oThe Labeling of the track identifier is automatically written on the track.
oThe Operational use of the track should be defined by the attributes 'Freight train' (B, G), 'Shunting' (C, H), 'Passenger train' (D, I) and 'Suburban train' (E, J).
4.To align the labels of several track identifiers uniformly, the function Alignment of Track Identifiers is used.
